A Salute to our Veterans
A SALUTE TO OUR VETERANS
SEPTEMBER 19, 2009
Honoring our World War II Veterans
Please join the Tennessee Museum of Aviation as we honor those who have proudly served our country. "A Salute to our Veterans" will be held on September 19, 2009, focusing this fall on the World War II Veterans.
During WWII more than 16.1 million men and women served in the Armed Forces. Unfortunately, we lose nearly 1,200 WWII vets each day. In the year 2020 most will be in their nineties, leaving us with a handful to share their memories.
World War II Veterans will be on hand throughout the day. Visitors can expect to be enlightened as our special guests share their memories and experiences. Bring the entire family and introduce the next generation to the "greatest generation."
Weather permitting, flight demonstrations will be provided by our Warbirds, along with visiting Warbirds, as we honor the "heroes" of our past ... who gave us the freedom of our today, and our tomorrow.
