About Us
The Tennessee Museum of Aviation opened in mid-December 2001. The 50,000 sq. ft. facility is located right beside the 5,500 ft. runway at the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport (GKT). This unique location makes bringing aviation history to life possible as airworthy vintage aircraft are sometimes seen performing flight demonstrations. Docents are available to assist visitors as they leisurely walk through our 35,000 sq. ft. hangar.
Historic Aircraft
Historic aircraft on tour frequently visit the museum. Some provide visitors with walk-through tours as well as a way to ride along on a historic flight. Our Spring and Fall events usually attract visiting "Warbird" aircraft, providing extraordinary photo opportunities and exciting formation flybys.
